Before Mila Kunis made her big comeback into film, I was told all the time that I looked โjust like Jackie from That โ70s Show.โ While my family and best friends agree they canโt really see a resemblance with this doppelgรคnger, it turns out that I should do a little Jackie emulationโat least this style season! โ70s trends are all over the runways. Fringe, fur, flares, knits, vests, jumpers and chunky boots are all groovy again. After browsing essentially every major runway show with โ70s inspiration, I settled on Chloรฉโs collection as my prize winner. The collectionโs highlights include a variety of textures, ranging from fur to crocheted, as well as flared pants. One subtly flared denim number with a hint of texture seemed like practical and classic inspiration. Leg lengthening and funky? Sign me up.
I decided to pull in a few throwback trends from the runway into my look. I invested in a pair of flared blue pants for an interview last year, and Iโm so glad I did! They made the perfect Chloรฉ-inspired base for this look. As my boyfriend aptly put it, โI may not know much about โ70s fashion, but those pants sure are funky.โ Thatโs a win in my book. I also happened to have a faux fur vest on hand from Target that helped balance the preppy โ70s feel with its more bohemian and earthy side.
For the outfitโs base top, I initially thought about copying Chloรฉ and donning a denim jacket. However, Chloรฉโs collection is technically in preparation for next fall, and things just didnโt feel cool enough for spring. My chambray button-down was in the wash, but inspiration came when I stumbled upon a crocheted sweater with bell sleeves. Wispy, bohemian and oh-so-flower childโperfect!
A pair of chunky leather booties really helped top off the look. Barely noticeably under the flared pants, their occasional appearance really adds some detail to the outfit! I also added some subtle gold rings for good measure.
Get my look: 1. A breezy white top with bell sleeves. 2. Patterned blue flare pants. 3. A fun faux fur vest.
