STYLE GURU STYLE: That Sorta '70s Show

Bell bottom jeans, lace-up tops, big floppy hats and square toed heeled boots are quite the news flash that the ’70s are back. Personally, as much as I am a fan of this new trend, sometimes it can be a little much. In Louis Vuitton’s spring 2015 ready-to-wear, this trend is incorporated without being over the top. Combining familiar cuts of clothing with the ’70s revival, these were bound to be classic yet innovative looks. This collection was perfectly combined with up to date looks while bringing back some of the ’70s.

Focusing on the earlier looks of the collection, lace was the main focus of the outfits. Each garment had a lace high-neck emphasis. The lace clothing was of many different colors, (such as gray, red, white, black and blue) but, since it is summer, I decided to take my white inspiration from my favorite color that was used. I think the white popped out from the rest of the collection and looked very classic and clean. My white lace dress was perfect for this inspiration. Most of the models were wearing dark colored booties, but I decided to stray away from that look. I chose to pair my white dress with white shoes because of the summer season. Lastly, to really embrace the ’70s, I added a pair of Penny Lane-inspired Ray-Ban sunglasses. These sunglasses are very current but are also a blast from the past.

Get My Look: 1. Any lace dress. 2. A pair of funky boots. 3.Very ’70s-inspired accessories.
