As a junior in college, I only have time for a few things in life—classes, my boyfriend, my family, Netflix, etc. I look forward to long mornings raiding my closet in search for the perfect outfit, but unfortunately right now there is just not enough time in the day. So when I wake up late and have to be out the door in thirty minutes, what else am I supposed to do? Keep it simple.
Ninety percent of the clothing in my closet is either white or black. I am drawn to a strong neutral palette and that tends to show in my personal style. In the outfit pictured I focused more on the details of the clothing I was wearing, rather than the colors. Every pair of jeans I own are ripped, but these jeans are my favorite because they are so unique in the way that they are distressed. I paired them with an asymmetrical top and a pair of Steve Madden heels, and I created my favorite outfit for a night out! The white clutch brings in another element of texture, without taking the focus off the clothing itself.
Through my time as a Style Guru, I have been inspired by fellow Fashionistas/os to try to be more daring when it comes to my fashion choices. But when life is hectic and time is of the essence, I find comfort in going back to the basics. Neutral colors are in; don’t hesitate to mix and match them to find your perfect combination!
