After enduring a long and chilling winter, spring is finally here in this college town! What does that mean for me? It means I can finally break out those light and airy dresses that have been patiently waiting to be worn. A dress is always my go-to outfit, as it is simple, comfortable and an easy way to spice up your look.
For this particular look, I was inspired by the Chloé spring 2016 ready-to-wear collection. Designer Clare Waight Keller wanted this collection to showcase the youthful optimism that the spirit of fashion displays. It can be described as free-flowing with a gentle use of color that embodies a festival feel.
This collection caught my attention, as I love festival fashion and the boho vibe associated with the style. Specifically inspired by look 39, I grabbed my cream-colored shift dress and lace-up sandals. The subtle use of color in my sandals combined with my neutral-colored dress allowed me to create my own version of a Chloé collection look. To accessorize my outfit, I added some Alex and Ani bangles and a couple of bold rings to add to the boho style I was going for.
The Chloé collection reminds us that sometimes simplicity is the key. An outfit does not always have to be loud in order to make a statement. Try experimenting with free-flowing pieces and adding a subtle pop of color. It’s a great way to spring into warmer weather and, if you’re planning on attending any summer festivals, check out the collection for more inspiration.
