Denim, which is one of the most useful and spectacular inventions in the fashion history, is back on the fashion runway. This time, it is back on the fashion runway in a big way. The looks come in variety of shapes and forms. They range from exaggerated proportion to casual top and skirt form. Whether you like to dress up or dress down, denim is always a great option to express your personality and creativity. You can always put a pair of heels on and a shade of flaming red on your lips to look formal or a pair of sneakers to look casual.
Therefore, I am inspired by the denim looks at Chloé’s spring/summer ready-to-wear show this year. Deep denim color is matched with light wash denim tops. The silhouette of the outfits made the girls look elegant yet practical. Isn’t this the magic of denim that it is able to make you look elegant, yet practical and strong at the same time? The combination of denim overall with gladiator sandals is pretty and fresh.
To translate the trend to my own style, I chose a light wash denim top and matched it a pencil denim skirt with a darker shade. The buttons on the skirt helped to create a more casual look since the body-hugging skirt and the shirt made the whole look too formal. I then added a brown leather belt to add some texture. As the designer at Chloé matched the outfit with gladiators, I tried to replicate the look in my own way. I chose a nude lace-up heels to add extra femininity to the whole look.
Get My Look: 1. A light wash denim shirt. 2. A button-down denim skirt. 3. A pair of nude lace-up heels.
