Even though the temperatures this December are not so telling of the fact that winter is quickly approaching, they have made the end of the semester all the more bearable. With that, I felt it appropriate to say farewell to the season by paying homage to some of the greatest trends it had to offer.
Throwing it back to fall 2015 ready-to-wear, I’m channeling the Ermanno Scervino collection in this look. The collection featured a sleek color palette of black and white with appearances of royal blue and rich reds with feminine textures and flattering structures. Houndstooth was a staple, as were sporty, quilted coats and luxurious ballerina skirts amidst funky flats and seductive high boots, rich burgundy lips, sparkles and fur.
To begin, I threw on a wearable black and white houndstooth fitted T-shirt and a simple, black denim mini skirt. I layered a warm, black faux fur vest to ward off the chill and paired it with black leather boots, a major shoe of this past season. To finish it off, I added a foiled red lip for a striking pop of color, inspired by the rich reds of the collection.
While I admit it’s a bit unnerving to enjoy 64 degree weather during a New York December (hello, global warming), I am happily enjoying it until it’s time to whip out the wool and cashmere.
And this marks my last article as a CollegeFashionista Style Guru! I want to extend an enormous thank you to the entire CollegeFashionista family, who have been nothing short of amazing. I wish it didn’t have to end.
Get My Look: 1. A cute piece of houndstooth. 2. A metallic red lip. 3. Some serious boots.
