Yellow in all shades, from bright to mustard is the hottest color for spring 2017. Yellow is trending on the runway and in theaters with the new Beauty and the Beast film. Style cues are taken from current and new media releases including movies and fine arts. This Disney revival movie of Beauty and the Beast is just an example of the cultural references a Fashionista/o can be inspired by. What better way to celebrate the start of warm weather than a princess-like yellow blouse from Forever 21. Since my blouse had a keyhole detail with a gold embellishment, I accessorized with 2-inch golden hoops. Hoops are becoming increasingly more popular so snatch a pair to stay with the trends.
The perfect hour-glass silhouette can be achieved from a pair of high-waisted jeans. I recently found these super trendy high-waisted ripped skinny jeans at a local thrift store. They have a cobalt blue undertone, which makes the denim color really pop. These jeans really are so versatile and can be worn during the day and transition easily into a dressed-up evening. A nice blouse and a pair of heels will take these pants a long way and are a great alternative to a LBD (little black dress).
This month I decided to dye my hair blue since my brown hair needed a spring revival. My hair color can be duped with Arctic Fox hair dye in the blue hue “Poseidon.” Going blue can be intimidating but it definitely boosted my confidence. The color will enhance the “cool factor” to any look and wardrobe, which is refreshing for this season. Popular hair colors for this month include purple, blue, and peach tones. I recommend skipping the bleach if the commitment is too spooky because the color will fade out in no time.
