Who doesn’t love a great jacket for the fall season? My jacket inspiration this fall comes from the Chanel pre-fall 2015 collection. The influential Métiers d’Art show paid homage to Coco Chanel’s iconic braid-trimmed jacket. The Austrian-themed collection incorporates beautifully crafted jackets with embroidery and detail. To me, the focal point of every outfit in this collection is the jacket. Incorporating runway trends into everyday wear can definitely give a casual look a high fashion flare.
Although I love the elegance that this collection emulates, it is a bit overstated for my personal style. The perfect jacket doesn’t have to be the most intricate or ornate. Inspired by Chanel’s beautifully crafted runway collection, I wanted my look to be simple yet dramatic. To keep the focus on my jacket, I kept it neutral underneath. Much like Chanel’s long and lean silhouettes, I opted for black leather jeans and a cozy white sweater for a polished base.
My style almost always consists of bohemian prints mixed with modern elements. To translate the classic runway looks from the Chanel show into something more my own, I found a jacket that combined elegance with bohemian vibes.
This pre-fall 2015 show inspired me to add an elegant twist to my eccentric everyday style. My Chanel-inspired look can be incorporated into any wardrobe by simply changing the color or pattern of your jacket to fit your own style. I am excited to bring more runway inspired looks to life on my campus throughout the semester.
