One of my favorite fashion trends of the summer includes the ever so popular high slits! Whether you’re wearing a high slit dress or flare pants with mid-thigh slits on the sides, slits are in and they definitely aren’t going anywhere!
Taking inspiration from Christian Dior’s fall 2015 couture fashion show, I decided to bring out my favorite items to emulate what Raf Simons was going for in his particular collection. Something I adore about this fall collection is the array of cut and sew pieces featured on the runway. For example, two of my favorite looks from the show include looks 40 and 31. These looks embody two perfect examples of using slits to truly emphasize and bring symmetry to a piece of clothing while maintaining its originality and class.
Although I cannot tangibly recreate the looks featured on the runway, I can absolutely find ways to mimic the looks while adding creativity and individualism. To achieve this idea, I mixed a variety of different color tones and textures to create a minimalistic yet bohemian outfit.
I began with my favorite off-white Free People flowing top. I can honestly say that this particular piece is a staple to my wardrobe as well as a total gem when it comes to completing an outfit for basically any occasion. My shorts were purchased from an outlet store in Santa Monica and shoes found at a local DSW here in Indianapolis. I finished my look by adding two of my favorite accessories, including my gold KORS Michael Kors watch and vintage handbag.
Furthermore, I may not be shopping on a designer budget; however, I am looking and feeling as if I was! It is easy to achieve basically any look if you simply take the time and energy to break into your creative juices and truly get into your own inner brilliance.
