The awkward transition from winter into spring brings chilly mornings, blazing hot afternoons and warm evenings. As New England would have it, this year, the month of May has the average temperatures of June, and it is beyond hot. So what’s a Fashionista to do? Wear a dress, of course. The Jil Sander fall 2015 ready-to-wear line featured the best arrangement of little black dresses I’ve seen.
My personal favorite is a breezy dress. Though the Sander collection featured more formfitting numbers, I opted for a free flowing piece that will blow in the wind. A T-shirt dress is my preferred style of the season, so I threw one on and that was all there was to the usually long getting ready process. Dresses are so easy to wear. They are quick one-and-done pieces that look effortless, especially in the hotter summer months when no one wants to be bothered with getting dressed.
I paired my dress with some on-trend slides in black, of course. However, a taste of summer makes me feel like adding to my color palette, and I decided to sneak some sort of bright hue into this outfit through my bag. Using a pop of color, no matter how big or small, can add a little something to your look.
This collection reminds us that wearing a dress doesn’t automatically mean pastel colors and frills are the way to go; it shows that a black number in your favorite style should definitely be a staple piece in every Fashionista’s wardrobe.
