Rodarte’s fall 2016 collection is out of my rock and roll queen dreams! What initially attracted me to the collection was the awesome pairing of gold with lace and mesh. It’s so glamorous while still giving off tough-girl vibes. These ladies took inspiration from The Godfather and San Francisco, talk about an awesome combination!
Of course, I had to tap into this collection and bring it over to my closet. My Rodarte-inspired outfit included lace, mesh, stripes and some gold booties. I paired a see-through mesh shirt with lace details and stripped culottes. A bit chilly for a November in Chicago, but I got over it—sometimes we suffer for fashion! I made my outfit a little different by toughening up this look with my accessories. I had just bought these sunglasses by LeSpecs and added them to my outfit. I loved their modern take on these cat-eye sunglasses. I threw on a faux leather biker jacket to keep me warm, as well as add an edge to my outfit. The gold booties brought in another element from Rodarte’s collection and gave a pop to my all black and white ensemble. To top it all off, I wore my gold vintage Chanel earrings which are my go-to statement earring. While Rodarte’s collection is whimsical, and I made my look more rock and roll, the eclectic nature of their fall collection still applies to my outfit. Taking inspiration from the runways is a great way to shake up your wardrobe when you in a rut. Designers take inspiration from everywhere, so we might as well do the same.
