STYLE GURU STYLE: There's No Such Thing as Too Much Denim

In the land of ready-to-wear, Jeremy Scott sure knows how to incorporate denim and in the words of Tim Gunn, “make it work.” Though his jean looks for Moschino are not always traditional, he gives the fabric the opportunity of becoming something we haven’t seen before. This year, both in the fall 2015 ready-to-wear collection and the spring 2015 ready-to-wear he used denim in some of his looks and they are absolutely RAD!

When it comes to wearing denim pieces, there is not much room for error. If Britney and Justin pulled a head-to-toe ensemble for the 2001 AMA’s, and Katy Perry managed to bring it back to life in 2014, I think it’s safe to say, there’s no such thing as too much denim.

Though my looks aren’t as denim heavy as that of the Princess of Pop or Jeremy Scott’s creations as I’d like them to be, I do like to pair more than one jean item to my outfits every now and then. In this case for a touristy day out at Antigua Guatemala, I used basic pieces to create my double denim combination.

It’s simple, yet it works. It’s easy to put together and look fashionable. This look can be rearranged and transformed for more of a night time look and still look cool as a cucumber, by simply changing the basics or adding new accessories.

Get My Look: 1. Coolest distressed pair of boyfriend jeans (every grandmother’s nightmare). 2. The classic jean jacket from the Gap. 3. A simple black top. 4. Metallic espadrilles (perfect and essential for this summer). 5. Classic cat-eye sunnies.
