STYLE GURU STYLE: Thigh-High

Rebecca Minkoff’s collection was the definition of bohemian chic. The entire collection consists of fall/winter’s favorite color palette including hues of black, beige, white and burgundy with touches of fringe and frill. Since the beginning of time, neutrals have been a go-to. Neutrals can be dressed up or down and can be accessorized depending on your personality. However, your style shouldn’t be based off neutrals alone. Accessories such as a purse or necklace is something that you can add to one outfit and make look different every time. What makes this collection stand out to me was Minkoff’s use of a of killer short boots and thigh-high boots, a classic fall trend that just about anyone can rock. From Kendall Jenner to Beyoncé, thigh-highs have been a staple to many celeb’s outfits these days and can work for just about anyone on and off the runway.

In my interpretation of this runway look, I decided to try taking the thigh-high boots from runway model to street style chic in New York. I was a little hesitant considering I am shorter, but found that they were a perfect fit and totally comfortable to walk in as well. My personal style is a lot of black and white with a pop of either a color or print, so I decided to go for both. Combining a graphic sweater with dress shorts tied together with the boots and a classic printed cape is all I need to stay neutral yet different in my own way. The graphics on my sweater and a classic red lip was my pop of color this time around, but never be afraid to get even more creative with it.

I challenge you to step out of your comfort zone of neutrals by making a few items in your outfit pop and let your personality speak for itself!
