When it comes to dressing for spring, we always forget that the typical weather isn’t all sunshine and daisies; there’s a lot of wind and a ton of rain. I’ve found that you can beat whatever mother nature throws at you by rocking a trench coat. Jean Paul Gaultier agreed with me this spring 2016 in his couture line. Each model sported an A-line jacket with a tied belt to keep each look effortless and easy attainable for Fashionistas/os around the world. Whether dressed up or down with a pair of trainers, Gaultier proved that this is one of spring’s best looks!
I chose to fashion my vintage Burberry trench coat out for an afternoon stroll. Instead of fastening my belt normally, I double-knotted the belt and pulled each end in opposite directions to make my choice stand out among all of the tan fabric. Underneath my coat, I opted for a classic button-down shirt tucked into a black and white, eyelet skirt. When picking out a skirt like this, I didn’t think I’d get as much wear out of it as I have; it works with a lot more than one would think! I paired this outfit with pointy nude heels to add some extra height. Anyone who has met me knows I love a bold lip color. Since my outfit doesn’t contain much color, I’ve been loving colors like this magenta lip stain, I think it’s perfect for spring!
Get My Look: 1. Pick out bottoms that end after your knee-cap (that way, the piece sticks out from beneath a coat). 2. Find yourself a jacket that comes with a belt. 3. Throw on interesting heels or trainers to show everyone you’re ready to strut out of the door!
