A simple skater dress, knee-high boots and a great leather jacket are all major components in my closet this season. Incorporating them all together, as well as in separate outfits is one of my favorite things. It is nice to be on trend every so often, but I adore sticking to classic and timeless pieces. This outfit is a blend of on-trend pieces, as well as classic which is essential for a college student’s closet.
Taking inspiration from Christian Siriano’s fall 2016 ready-to-wear collection, I incorporated captivating and timeless pieces, which is what Christian Siriano was going for in this collection. I stuck with the color palette which was full of muted colors, knits and satin. I integrated this inspiration with the casualness of the Urban Outfitters 2016 fall collection, which includes a lot of muted colors and leather to give an overall street look.
Simple pieces can always be refreshed. My intention for this outfit, which largely consists of classic pieces, was to make the look different yet enticing in some way. To be able to achieve this idea, I combined a variety of textures to create a visually captivating outfit. Leather, cotton and felt all counteract each other.
The outfit I wore includes a burnt orange, skater dress paired with a black, leather jacket and a black, felt hat. To build on to the look, I wore knee-high boots and added a fringe purse to dress up the look a bit.
Black and muted colors are always going to be in style. To give the outfit a bit of trendiness, I sported a black, fringe purse that can be found in any retail store. Putting these pieces together created an edgy yet captivating look, which I love to wear when I want to put some life into my wardrobe.
