Rainy weather can always be a total drag when trying to figure out something to wear that not only is practical, but stylish too. There is nothing worse than getting caught out in a rainstorm without an umbrella, or in an outfit that is not one bit suitable. The trench coat is the perfect solution! It is a must-have classic garment everyone needs to own. When looking for inspiration on styling a trench coat, the Burberry Prorsum spring 2015 ready-to-wear collection is a go-to. You can’t think about Burberry without the classic trench coat coming to mind, and of course, a version of this jacket is seen throughout this collection. It seems to always be a staple in Burberry’s collections.
On one rainy day this week, I decided to try out this Burberry-inspired look. My trench coat is a black classic styled one from Express. I paired it with just some black leggings and a gray oversized sweater underneath my trench. For shoes, I went with these black stacked heel booties. Then, I added the perfect rainy day accessory: an umbrella. My umbrella is a black, white and yellow houndstooth by Vera Bradley. With this very monochromatic outfit, I felt that the umbrella’s print and little touch of yellow was just right to complete the entire look.
So, on the next rainy day on campus, I recommend trying out this classic look. Whether you are heading to class, grabbing some coffee with friends or going off to the library for a hardcore study session in this undesirable weather, there is absolutely no other way than the trench!
