In major admiration of the Jil Sander resort 2017 collection, I decided to add my own personal twist to the runway look. A major trend in this resort line were trench coats and flats of all sorts. A trench coat is one of the most classic garments one can possess in their wardrobe, yet can be dressed in many different ways.
Creative director of Jil Sander, Rodolfo Paglialunga, explained the line to be very classic yet modern in its aesthetic and I couldn’t agree more. Today, I took on the trench in a more casual way. I recently began interning at Vera Wang and I couldn’t be happier. The dress code is strictly black, which is the reason behind buying the trench, but I like adding my own flare to the outfit. I paired my black sleeveless trench with a slim-fit ankle pant for a professional yet stylish look. If I was wearing this to work, I would have chosen a black tank underneath. Instead, I went with one of my go-to slouchy tanks with a chunky, gold necklace; everybody loves a good chunky necklace.
To further mimic the runway get-up, I slipped on the newest addition to my shoe collection: these ballet-lace-up flats. The d’orsay cut of the shoe on top of the ghillie lacing makes it that much more feminine and chic. These are incredibly comfortable, even enough to run around the bridal showroom all day in!
