My favorite season has finally come and I couldn’t be more excited. Something about spring makes me so lively. I’m not sure if it’s the warmer weather, spring break or the fact that I can finally wear my favorite clothes without a heavy coat. The latest trends this spring have me even happier and I can’t wait to wear them on these pretty days.
When it comes to my personal style, I would say that it varies greatly. One thing I can always go to though is a boho look. Trends that started in the ’70s come and go but have seem to never really go away. This year especially, a lot designers showed off their unique bohemian looks on the runway. One of the shows that stood out to me the most was Alberta Ferretti’s spring ready-to-wear collection. This desert-inspired theme included pieces with warm shades of colors and heavy gold jewelry. Ferretti also designed many dresses that I love. His use of patchwork and flowy, thin materials make his looks seem effortless but really stand out with his own individual style.
Obviously, as a college student, I don’t have the money or a reason to wear something as extravagant as a dress like Ferretti’s designs. I like to use this inspiration from the runway when I pick out my outfits though. Warm, natural shades of color don’t just have to be for fall. In my outfit, I chose a basic sleeveless top with dark red tone and paired it with some jeans. I also accessorized by layering with some gold jewelry and a leather belt. Since it’s still early spring, I layered my outfit with an oversized knitted cardigan which is perfect for when it’s colder in the mornings and evenings but easy to take off and carry around when it gets too hot. The wedges that I am wearing are also a perfect staple item this spring and go greatly with the bohemian vibe.
