STYLE GURU STYLE: Western Gypsy

There is no doubt that the transition between seasons is hard when it comes to wardrobe. A simple tip that I think helps is to look at the pre-fall runways that come out in January on Style.com to give you an idea of how to combine two different seasons into one. The Chloé pre-fall 2015 runway was very inspirational to me with its combination of gypsy-inspired lace and light fabric with wool, leather and boxy silhouettes.

With this mild weather it is finally time to break out the poncho. The wool texture mixed with the black stripes provided a free-flowing gypsy feel while also using a western-inspired piece. This V-neck poncho helps to show layering of a thinner, sheer black shirt and was a repeating element in Chloé tops. To add warmth and bring in the contrasting textures I had seen in the runway, I paired the poncho with a leather front panel pant. Gypsy styles typically incorporate finer more ornate fabrics such as wool and leather and the black and tan colors mixed with the silhouettes of the outfit gave it a western twist.

The accessories I incorporated with this look tied it all together. My gold Giving Key necklace and assortment of rings show off the detail and beading in Chloé’s pre-fall line. The felt Panama hat with leather detail bring another warmer contrasting fabric and also adds a western touch.

Get My Look: 1. A patterned, multi-color poncho. 2. Vegan leather leggings. 3. Felt Panama hat with leather detail.
