One collection that caught my eye was the Valentino fall 2015 ready-to-wear. Something that has been prevalent on the runway this season is coats. All different styles but I have seen a huge focus on knee-length, oversized coats. I was out shopping one afternoon and noticed this coat and had to snag it. It reminded me so much of the Valentino collection, which has inspired me to put this look together.
For spring I love the all-white ensemble, it just has something so sleek and fresh about it. Also the perfect substitution to your all-black outfit, an easy switch from winter to spring. I have paired a pair of white envelope shorts with a white long sleeve blouse with zipper detail. All underneath my camel knee-length coat, which is the perfect transition piece for winter to spring.
I could have gone crazy with accessories but for some reason keeping things simple just seemed fitting. For shoes, I went with my leopard print wedges. Typically I would not pair a long jacket with an open toed shoe but with the balance from the shorts, it felt right.
I know it is hard to imagine bringing a runway look to the street. But by buying a statement item like this coat is an easy way to stay fashionable but not totally overdoing it. It is a staple that you can throw over just about anything and always look put together and ready to take on the day.
