STYLE GURU STYLE: White-Hot Denim

All summer I’ve been scouring the mall for the perfect pair of white boyfriend jeans. Finally after two months of disappointing purchases, I’ve managed to find a pair that does my full legs justice.

Fortunately, Iro’s fall 2015 ready-to-wear collection is chock-full of white denim. From flared to boyfriend to skinny cuts, Iro sees high-waisted denim as the next frontier for sexy attire. With more fitted waists, Iro believes we can achieve that blasé street style look we crave without shaming our curves, as boyfriend jeans tend to do. Being a slightly grungier line, Iro thrives on designing cool, accessible pieces that range from motorcycle jackets to oversized shearling vests. Completely transfixed by one of Iro’s looks, I took separate elements of the outfit and tried to incorporate them into my own.

Layering a knit vest under a black blazer, I wanted to create a similar textural effect to Iro’s chevron jacket. The trapeze shape of the vest covered areas I’m less confident about in my legs and actually complemented my white boyfriend jeans. Channeling Kendall Jenner, I spiced up this somewhat masculine outfit with a plunging neckline. I also paired a red lip to a red clutch to give this very basic color palette a bit of a feminine edge. To tone down the dressiness of the outfit, I threw my hair in a messy yet chic ponytail. I finished off the look in a pair of black booties with gold accents, two gold necklaces and two gold rings. With sunglasses on point, I felt like a model off duty.

Get My Look: 1. A black deep neck leotard. 2. A pair of white boyfriend jeans. 3. Black booties. 4. Any black blazer. 5. A red clutch.
