Now that it’s finally summer, we’re now able to break out one of the biggest lasting trends of the year—none other than full, A-line skirts. I know that for me skirts are a definite go-to, due to the various styles they come in. They’re perfect for when you want to dress up or keep casual during the day. It’s easy to to make your skirt the statement-making piece of your wardrobe, making them the versatile bottom for every Fashionista.
This trend is presented in the Red Valentino ready-to-wear collection for spring 2015, a classic but fashion-forward line with a major focus on skirts. The collection incorporated various colors, patterns and fabrics, all with A-line cuts giving a very full effect which makes them very flattering for all body types. This collection makes an interesting and fun play on fashion all in all. It’s a great inspiration to really step out of the box, especially when it comes to mixing and matching combinations that you wouldn’t normally go for.
As shown in my outfit, I was inspired to take on the trend creating a wearable and simpler take on the Red Valentino collection. I paired a casual T-shirt with my gray, pleated skirt that definitely gives off the full effect. My personal go-to when it comes to styling is definitely mixing casual and dressy pieces. I love this type of outfit paired with my staple, black perforated leather Vans slip-ons. The overall mixing of the unexpected helps create a cool and stylish look that’s great for summer.
