Kanye West is a true icon of our time. To some, he is a visionary, an innovator that hasn’t seized to create; however, to others, he is simply just a big voice, a conceited man who gets far more attention than he deserves. Either way, he is a man who is extremely talked about. With his recent ventures into the fashion world, Fashionistas and Fashionistos around the world are going insane.
I might be one of those people; I think that his most recent runway show for Yeezy’s spring 2016 collection gives a fresh perspective into minimalist fashion. Beautiful, crafty shades of nude and olive come together to make the most avant-garde looks. Baggy, military style mixed with body conscious separates forms the essence of Yeezy fashion and I am so digging it.
In order to incorporate it into my own casual style, I chose to replicate this look, which I made my own with baggier joggers and a cropped sweater. You can find these soft, oatmeal H&M pants here, a similar sweater here and similar sneakers here. I loved how basic Yeezy’s look was and I thought the midriff action was so edgy; I couldn’t wait to recreate this outfit (especially since the weather here in NYC right now supports showing a little skin). I don’t think Kanye’s design work is particularly unconventional, seeing as I had items already in my closet that I could work with in order to get a similar look; however, I’m still a big fan of what he’s doing and I loved this look, inspired by this Yeezy collection.
Get My Look: 1. A basic cropped top. 2. A pair of high-waisted leggings. 3. Cool sneakers.
