This look was inspired by the spring 2016 ready-to-wear Yeezy collection designed by Kanye West that debuted at the last New York Fashion Week.
The Yeezy collection has a very futuristic and military feel to it. During the fashion show, the head-to-toe monochromatic colors of garments progressed from clothes shaded in beiges and taupe and ended in browns, dark green and blacks. The entire spring collection is essentially unisex; consisting of mostly sweatshirts, leggings and outerwear, such as a bomber and extended trenches, along with boots of many styles. Although this collection is slightly dystopian and futuristic, it has the capability of being very wearable for the everyday Fashionista/o.
The assortment of clothes have no patterns or embellishments, but the contrasting textures created visual interest. The Yeezy collection is very oversized and almost baggy; great for the comfort aspect of the garments.
Taking inspiration from Kanye West’s Yeezy season two, I paired a black long sleeve crop top with faux leather black leggings and a dark green bomber inspired jacket. Similarly to how the looks were styled on the runway, I decided to wear a pair of chunky heeled boots and a classic baseball cap to give it more of a sporty look.
The olive green bomber jacket is very trendy right now and can be found at nearly any fashion retail store from Forever 21 to Topshop for both women and menswear. Several celebrities have been rocking this look and I am absolutely all for the military inspired trend.
