Combining a little black dress, metallic sunglasses and over-the-knee boots creates a look that I would wear to any semi-formal event. In order to shake things up, instead of my usual black heels, I decided to go with these boots to add an edgy flair to my outfit.
Getting cues from Alexandre Vauthier’s fall 2016 ready-to-wear collection, I created my look using black over-the-knee boots and a tight black dress with gold accents to add some color to the all-black theme. This collection also featured metallic fabrics, which also inspired me to include the metallic sunglasses.
The back of my dress includes a cutout that also adds to the edginess of the outfit, flashing some skin when I turn around. This connects to the collection, as Alexandre Vauthier’s collection’s dresses were also filled with unexpected cutouts.
Instead of going for the classic little black dress and heels, my outfit helped create a cool girl vibe with over-the-knee boots that made my outfit more unique than with just heels. Heels are great, but in order to make an outfit that is trendy and eye-catching, over-the-knee boots are the way to go. These boots should include some heel, so that some height adds to the dressiness of the outfit.
To add to the look, I included the sunglasses and minimal makeup. Instead of using heavy make-up, I decided to use minimal makeup to let my outfit shine. However, I also used MAC’s powder blush to add some color to my face.
