Hey Fashionistas and Fashionistos! My name is Shannon Hopkins and I will be a junior in the fall at James Madison University (JMU) in Virginia. I am majoring in Marketing and this is my first time as a Style Guru for CollegeFashionista. I’m so excited to share some of JMU’s best fashions this summer.
My love of fashion has grown tremendously over the years. Living on Long Island and being so close to New York City, I’ve always been around amazing fashion icons. I am obsessed with Gossip Girl, The Hills, Social Media and everything KORS Michael Kors. Going to college in Virginia from New York was definitely a change. I was introduced to southern brands like Lily Pulitzer and Jack Rogers that I’ve come to love. The best part of going to college was having closet overload. I had three closets to choose from. Having three brothers at home, there was never any borrowing or sharing of clothes going on. Living with so many girls was definitely a huge change for me. I loved raiding everyone’s closets to find the perfect outfit. My roommate and the other girls in my dorm always asked for my advice when it came to choosing an outfit. I loved styling others and influencing peers with my unique style.
This outfit is one of my favorites because it’s simple but dressy. Sundresses are my go-to outfit because you can either go for the casual or dressy look. I paired the dress with a denim vest and Jack Rogers sandals. You will never see me without my KORS Michael Kors rose-gold watch and my Alex and Ani bangles. I loved this outfit because it’s simple but fashionable.
