Here Are The Movies College Students Can't Wait to See This Summer

With summer on the horizon, everyone is planning out how to spend their school-free days. While many will be working internships or jobs, most still try to fit in a bit of fun during the days off, and with summer time comes summer movies. Here are a few films that we are looking forward to seeing this season.

Wonder Woman is a cause for excitement whether you are a superhero fan or not. For years, male characters have been the center of blockbuster comic book films. The last female-lead comic book film was in 2005, so this film is long overdue. Following up Wonder Woman’s appearance ing Batman Vs. Superman, the film is set to provide insight on Wonder Woman’s past. Style Guru Rachel Park is particularly excited for the film,”I think Warner Bros. did an excellent job casting Gal Gadot as Wonder Woman. Her talent as an actress, incredible physique, and #GirlPower influence makes her the perfect person to embody such a timeless role.” Wonder Woman hits theaters June 2, 2017 (Photo via IMDb)

While the idea of yet another Spider-Man reboot may make you want to role your eyes, Spider-Man: Homecoming is looking to be one of the most exciting movies of the summer. Marvel Studios president, Kevin Feige called it the The Breakfast Club of superhero movies, meaning it is sure to rack in the relatable content with high school blunders and homework stresses. And, with film icon, Robert Downey Jr. and everyone’s favorite It girl, Zendaya starring alongside our new Peter Parker (Tom Holland), this movie is shaping up to be a must-see. Spider-Man: Homecoming hits theaters July 7, 2017. Sophia Coppola’s next big girl-driven drama, The Beguiled features Nicole Kidman as the head of a girls’ school in Virginia during the Civil War. The school takes in a wounded soldier (Colin Farrell), and an unexpected turn of events unfold. Style Guru Aaron Royce is a fan of Coppola’s other work and can’t wait to see it, “It’s led by a strong, female cast with a talented female director; I’m all about girl power, so, I feel like that’s really fantastic and important right now! I’m also anticipating amazing aesthetics and great fashion, which many of Sophia’s past films have which frequently serve as personal inspirations.” The Beguiled hits theaters June 23, 2017.
