“I’ve recently read one in my literature class called I’ll Give You the Sun by Jandy Nelson. I think it is an awesome book (it’s a New York Times bestseller) because it reveals the struggles of teenage maturation and puberty through the lens of both a girl and boy and illustrates a story of tragedy, love, and acceptance. It’s definitely a story that’s very relatable in some way or another.” – Kim Truong
“I recently read Girl with the Lower Back Tattoo by Amy Schumer, and it was surprisingly insightful. She includes a lot of comedy in it but her experiences with body image and overcoming body shaming throughout her life was really inspiring and served as a great reminder to never sweat the small stuff and to keep a positive attitude no matter what!” – Lyndsay Rinere

“You Can Heal Your Life by Lousie L. Hay. It is very old book, first written in the 1980s, but it is constantly resurfacing with new book covers but the same text! While it is a self-care book, I felt like she was not judgmental in her approach. The book got me to look at life through a different perspective, while beginning to understand myself through her exercises! This is a book that you should never read just once, re-read and re-read, sooo helpful!” – Zoda Carey
“A life changing book for me is definitely my favorite book, This Side of Paradise by F. Scott Fitzgerald. This book introduced me to a new life in words. As a writer myself, reading this coming of age book gave me goosebumps. I was actually assigned to read it by one of my favorite teachers in high school, and he knew i would love it. And, I really did! It made me look at literature and life differently.” – Sarah Niderost

“One book that changed my life was The Little Prince because it prepared me for my 20s. It taught me to look beyond the surface, stay imaginative, and live in the moment. I actually first read it in French class but it still stuck with me. A quote that will always inspire me is: ‘The most beautiful things in the world cannot be seen or touched; they are felt with the heart.'” – Cherileigh Co
“A book that really resonated with me is #Girlboss by Sophia Amoruso, the creator of Nasty Gal. It is about how she got to where she is today. It was eye opening to read about a regular girl who made their way up the ladder of success. It’s hard to believe that someone who used to steal and didn’t go to college used her stubborn, rebellious ways to create a fast-growing clothing company and become an inspiring, successful business woman.” – Jordan Shiley (Photo via @ameliachristineburns)
