Now two months into the new school year, we’re all in desperate need of a good getaway. While the lucky ones get a week off for fall break, many of us are stuck suffering until winter break comes around. Although it may seem impossible, there are plenty of ways to sneak away for a weekend in between deadlines and exams. Whether you take off on a quick road trip, jump on a train to your favorite city or snag a ticket for a last minute Red Eye flight, you’ll soon be on your way to attaining the relaxation and excitement you need to finish off the semester with your sanity in tact.
Despite what my critics may argue, mustering up the courage to buy the ticket and go is the easy part of vacationing. What’s the hardest part? Obviously packing and deciding what’s best to wear on your long journey. Shorter car trips call for a completely different outfit choice than say a nine-hour flight to Europe. Good thing for us, Style Gurus know their way around travel attire. Scroll through to find the perfect look for every mode of transportation.
For the quick drive, go for boyfriend jeans and a top to impress so that when the drive is over, you’re ready to get your vacation started. And remember, a trip without photos is no trip at all. (Photos via @sarahgargano29)
For the full-on road trip, keep the bottoms and change the top. This time, go for something a little more cozy but still equally as adorable so that when you stop in a picturesque town, you’re already camera ready. (Photo via @alisacurmaci)
For train rides, you’ve got to step it up. Adventuring (a.k.a. sneaking) into the first-class cars calls for an elevated look that still looks utterly effortless. (Photo via @queenhalpal)
For those of you lucky enough to be jetting off somewhere, comfort is key. Go for something that allows you to move while still looking your best. (Photo via @taylorknoxx)
Lastly, if you trust me at all, you’ll find yourself the perfect blanket coat and never leave it behind. It will be a lifesaver on any and every trip you take for the rest of time. (Photo via @elizagracehuber)
