Spring has sprung, and it’s time to start the search for a new summer internship. I am currently interning three days a week, and I am very thankful for the warm weather coming because your girl has run out of outfits. Having an internship is an amazing experience, so why not get some amazing inspiration for your next week of work outfits?
Before going shopping for your next super chic pantsuit, keep in mind that each industry has a different set of dress codes to follow. If you are interning in a more business-related field, business professional or business casual is your best friend. If you are interning in the fashion industry, like me, the rules can bend a little bit depending on which brand or department you are in. I would also like to stress that interning in the fashion industry will almost always require running around for if not all, most of your day. Fashion is fast-paced, so buy yourself some shoes that pair well with this environment.
This Fashionista is rocking a super cute, casual Friday work outfit. Keep in mind, I intern in the fashion industry, so showing your style through a more casual outfit is pretty common. This Fashionista is wearing a striped shift dress paired with black tights and booties. She is also wearing a statement necklace to give her look some more personality. This combo is a great go-to work outfit because it gives a casual print a chic touch. Another one of my favorite, more casual, work outfits is pairing denim with a patterned blouse. Again, the balance of casual and chic is an interesting way to have some fun with your work style.
Internships are an important time to gain professional experience, including how to dress for the daily work day. My advice is to observe what your employer wears day to day, and then take into consideration your own daily tasks to dress appropriately. Happy woking!
