My Wednesday night dates with my sorority sisters at the recreational center leisure pool is what gets me through the week. I like to think I know what I’m doing sometimes now that I have two years of college under my belt, and finding time for yourself during the week is the best advice I have. Here are a few easy ways to include rest and relaxation into your weekly routine!

1—Sit down for coffee
Take a friend, take a date, or just take your backpack. Whether it’s at Starbucks or a local coffee house, sitting down to enjoy that latte offers the perfect break to a hectic day. It’s easy to think of your morning coffee as just your caffeine source, especially if you’re on the go. Take that free hour you have between classes and enjoy.

2—Clean your makeup brushes
This one sounds a little odd, I know. It’s something most of us probably don’t do often enough. Not only is cleaning your brushes healthy for your skin, it is a way to take a break from schoolwork and still be productive. Ten minutes and a little soap is all you need!

3—Brunch with your friends
Weekly dinners with my sorority sisters are how I conquered my sophomore year. Explore your city with your friends and find your niche, that place that serves killer omelets or freshly squeezed orange juice. While you’re there you can turn it into a photo op to up your Instagram game! Instead of feeling up to your eyes in homework, feel like you’re on an episode of Sex and the City.

4—Treat yourself
It’s fairly straightforward. Set aside time each week to do what you love. If there’s a farmers’ market Saturday mornings or a thrift shop you’ve had your eye on, go. Catch up on that book you’re reading or paint your nails. Do whatever the little thing is that makes you happy.
