WHAT TO WEAR: An Autumn Affair

The weather is finally cooling down, the days seem to be getting shorter, the clouds start to cover the sky and you start to choose a hot coffee over a cold one. These are just some of the signs that the transition of summer to fall is upon us. At this moment, we all start to scramble for our boots and sweaters we had put away in storage never to be touched again because we were positive summer was here to stay forever this time.

Although we have begun this journey into autumn, the weather is still a tad unstable here in New York. One day it will be a sunny 75 degrees and you are able to comfortably wear shorts and the next it is raining and you’re wondering if you ever replaced that umbrella you broke last winter. With so much uncertainty about the climate, it is good to be prepared for both.

This Fashionista is ready for whatever Mother Nature decides to throw at her. Not only is her style simple and chic, it is also cozy for this in-between weather. My Fashionista pairs this light camel colored sweater dress with gray quilted leather sneakers, a white backpack and her own personal jewelry. This sweater dress is able to keep her warm without the compromise of her own style. She is able to go with the flow and adjust to the ever-changing forecast.

As we remember the memories of our warm summer nights and linen dresses, and adjust to gray clouds and heavy jackets. At this point, we start to realize how much we actually missed autumn with the leaves changing colors, pumpkins, apple cider and, of course, all the new fall fashion. So instead of mourning about summer being over, plan a day to go shopping for new fall trends and update your closet.
