WHAT TO WEAR: Baby It's Cold Outside

It’s that time of the year again at St. Vincent College. There’s snow all around! It can sometimes be hard to balance the cold weather and a chic style. It often feels like the campus refuses to turn the heat on so we feel tempted to just throw on a sweatshirt and sweatpants, especially for those 8:30 a.m. classes. That’s not the case for this Fashionista! This is a great example of how to layer up to battle the cold weather.

In this article, this Fashionista is wearing a patterned bodycon dress with three-quarter sleeves, a black fur vest, black tights along with black knee-high socks, black leather boots, and for extra character, a matching leaf earrings and ring set. She also wears a beautiful black and white plaid peplum coat.

I love this dress, not just because of the beautiful pattern, but because of the fact that she is wearing it in the cold weather! Yes, you can see some leg, but to keep warm, she is wearing tights and knee-high socks with her high boots. The sock over the boot trend is very popular right now. Not only are the extra layers providing warmth, but they definitely make for a trendy look.

Nothing says warmth like thick fur. Whether it’s a puffer, quilted, or fleece vest, vests have become very popular this winter. Fur is definitely the most unique style of vests and I love the way this one compliments her figure. The extra layer to the outfit provides great balance with her black boots. It is also interesting that from far away the vest just looks black, but up close the texture of the fur goes beautifully with the design on her dress.

This look is so unique and it’s a great way to be a Fashionista in the cold weather. It’s like Latrobe’s Modern Narnia.
