The first few weeks of school are an opportunity to recreate yourself. Most of your classmates haven’t seen you in months, so this is the time to create a wardrobe just as cool as the one you’ve been posting (or stalking) all over social media during the break. You’ve spent a ton of money on your “new-year-new-me” wardrobe, and it is time to rock what you’ve got.
The beginning is great: the weather’s polite, you’re surrounded by good vibes, and your back to school looks can include some vibrant colors and patterns in memory of your gone too soon summer days. This is also a chance to show your campus friends the way your style and taste has grown. The Fashionista I found had an admirable sense of style. You could tell she was confident in her look, which is important for any fashion guru. She started with the essentials, and then took a look to another level with just a few key pieces.
This Fashionista’s vibrant kimono caught my eye from a mile away. The exciting, yet romantic pattern showed off her positively girly attitude, while keeping her trendy. She created this look effortlessly by layering the kimono over an essential white tank, and pairing that with an adorable pair of dress-up joggers. This light look is great for this time of year, where she’ll be cool enough to endure the sun, but covered up enough to enjoy the bitter-sweet air conditioning. My favorite part of her look is her amazing necklace. The statement piece with the patterned kimono was a bold choice, but worked perfectly. The necklace added more personality and a sense of “chic” to the look. Her neutral sandals can work with any look, but really helped pull this one together.
One Simple Change: Switch your flat sandals for some minimalist heels for a more sexy and relaxed look. The extra height and some gloss on the lips easily takes this look from day to night.
