School is back in session and with that comes a whole lot of pages of syllabi, new professors, long walks across campus and the opportunity for new and fun back to school styles! I figured who better to feature in my first official article with CollegeFashionista than my incredibly stylish roommate.
This Fashionista is living by Tyra Banks’ joke, “Every hallway is a runway.” Many students on college campuses find themselves rolling out of bed for an early Monday morning class and throwing on a pair of sweats and a T-shirt. I have found it to be true for many though that the better you’re dressed, the better you feel. That extra effort in your wardrobe gives you the confidence to feel just that much better, especially on a day that can be a little nerve-racking as the expectations for the semester become apparent.
She is working her personal runway in a timeless black frock, cinched with a wide, patent leather belt to give the silhouette some increased definition. She personalizes the basic garment by layering the dress with this amazing thrift store find, a sleeveless blouse with a frilly neck detail. The accessories keep the victorian inspired charm of the look consistent, with large oval stone rings and layering strings of beads. The boots are really what take the look to the next level though. Just like the runway, this Fashionista did not shy away from a pair of heels for her walk to class.
One Simple Change: This look can go from fun to professional by just switching out the shoes! Replace the tall black boots with a pair of leather loafers and you’re ready for a day at this semester’s internship.
