As a Fashionista, getting dressed for the first day of a new semester can be very anxiety-provoking. As much as I love picking out outfits, when thinking about all the new people in my classes I feel the pressure to make my first impression a good one. With this unusually cold weather it’s easy to blend in with neutral colors, leggings and sweatshirts. However, this week’s Fashionista knows that a pop of color is just what someone needs to stand out in class for all the right reasons.
This student’s fire-engine red peacoat grabbed my attention immediately. I’ve always thought coats should be neutral colors to match the rest of my outfit, but after seeing this colorful jacket my mind is forever changed. A bright coat is an easy way to bring any outfit from zero to 100 and can be paired with anything from dark skinny jeans and wedges to leather sneakers and a black skater dress. For anyone who feels at home in an all-black ensemble, this is perfect for getting out of your comfort zone and changing up your style.
When I was finally able to stop gushing over this Fashionista’s jacket I noticed the rest of her on-point accessories. Her brown wedges had beautiful floral embroidery on the straps which gave her whole outfit a bohemian feel. To make the look even more free-spirited, she wore a stack of gold engraved bracelets and a long gold necklace. She mixed classic and boho styles perfectly to create a polished, dynamic look. This girl’s impeccable style made a great impression on me so take a hint from her look to nail your first week of class.
One Simple Change: If the temperature drops even further, there’s no need to sacrifice your style. Switch wedges for comfortable and warm brown riding boots and add a chunky scarf.
