Everybody loves Sunday brunch for two reasons: the food and the dressing up. There is nothing better than rocking a cute outfit with your friends and starting your day off right. For brunch, you never want to be overdressed, but still look trendy and put together. This Sunday’s Brunch look is inspired by a Free People style off of Instagram!
This rustic looking Free People dress is the perfect center piece for a cold Sunday afternoon. The Instagram post that inspired this look could be varied in many ways by just using some basic pieces in your own closet. This Fashionista is wearing over-the-knee black socks from Urban Outfitters underneath classic tall brown Frye boots, which keeps her warm and also adds back some of the colors from the tunic. Over the Free People tunic, she is wearing a sheep fur jacket that was bought in Barcelona, Spain at a boutique called Lefties. This style of jacket is quite popular right now and could be found at Free People or even Forever 21 too! This particular jacket is lined with leather cuffs and trim on the outside, which was a nice touch and change from the original look! This look has a definite bohemian feel with a little bit of a diva edge to it! It’s always good to mix it up!
For finishing touches, she is wearing a rustic silver Forever 21 bohemian engraved cuff and a Forever 21 vintage-styled necklace. This necklace is a long necklace but it is tied off in the back to make it shorter to complete the look. That’s a little trick that is good to use to change up a look or wear a piece differently! This outfit is perfect for a brunch because it keeps you warm during these cold winter days, but it is still super stylish and dressy enough for brunch with the girls!
One Simple Change: If I were to re-style this outfit for class, I would replace the big white furry jacket with a simple American Eagle jean jacket to make the look more casual. I also would replace the boots and socks with a pair of chestnut brown gladiator sandals. Instead of the two silver vintage pieces of jewelry, I may switch to gold with a layering necklace and a double wrap brown leather watch. This dress is a statement piece and super versatile!
