Ah yes, the mid-morning life crisis of what does one wear on a brunch date. You know, it’s still somewhat early, so you could lay in bed, press snooze and throw on your yoga pants and be out the door. Or you could choose option B, which is wake up at a reasonable hour, freshen up and wear that cute new outfit you just bought yesterday. If you’re anything like me, you would love the extra half hour of sleep, but another side of you is just way too obsessed with that new outfit. But like most fashion obsessed guys and gals, I use any occasion as an excuse to dress up and feel confident. A fairly early brunch date is undeniably no exception!
Unfortunately in Kentucky, the weather has not transitioned into this cool, breezy October climate we all desire for. But that does not mean we aren’t capable in bringing out all of our favorite fall pieces! So go ahead and pull out that mustard yellow sweater and rock it, just like this Fashionista is. One of my favorite outfit combinations during this time of the year are sweaters and shorts. This awkward mid-change in weather makes it difficult to look on trend, yet still be dressed appropriate for the climate. That is one reason why I love the shorts and sweater combination. It’s incredibly easy to layer and delayer the look at your choosing.
Needless to say, there are numerous ways to change up such a simple outfit. One way to modify this look is to exchange the shorts for your favorite pair of high-waisted skinny jeans. Next, let’s take away the floppy hat and accessorize with some layered necklaces. Lastly, let’s change out of those sandals for some cute booties. Then BAM, you have yourself the perfect fall outfit for a variety of occasions!
Thanks for checking back in with me Fashionistas! Until next time, stay RAD.
