It is no secret that sportswear has taken over the fashion industry. From street style blogs to runway shows, everyone is pairing their outfits with a pair of kicks. Yeezy 350 Boosts are sold out and being resold for over $1,000. Models like Gigi Hadid and Kendall Jenner are always showing off the latest adidas or Nike sneaker.
Rihanna and Puma made fashion history by bringing their collection, Fenty x Puma, to New York Fashion Week this February. Rihanna brought her dark gothic touch to sportswear pieces such as sweatshirts, sports bras and joggers. Her collection also reflected the vibe of the ’90s with the lace-up bodysuits, chokers and high-waisted bottoms.
This Fashionista’s look reminded me of Rihanna’s collection with the black and white, sporty style pieces. The look spoke to me as the perfect outfit to wear to class due to the comfy basics. When spending multiple hours a day in class, you need to feel good in what you are wearing! This Fashionista paired a black crop top with black high-waisted jeans and an open, oversized baseball T-shirt. Her gold layered necklaces and hoops reminded me of Rihanna circa 2005 in “Music of the Sun.”
Of course, just like any on-point athletic look, this Fashionista added her favorites Nikes, which are perfect for running to class when you’re fashionably late. I know that for me, it’s getting to that point in the semester where I sleep in 10 minutes more than I know I should. Looks like these are on-trend yet easy to throw together when you are in a rush. You simply put on your favorite jeans, a basic T-shirt and a few awesome accessories to add your personality to the look. Since you will be looking like Rihanna, nobody will guess you got ready in 15 minutes!
One Simple Change: Switch out the crop top and jeans for a black mini dress and you have yourself the perfect, sporty, date night look.
