WHAT TO WEAR: Class

Do you ever wonder how people just get up in the morning, with only running on four hours of sleep and yet, they still end up looking fabulous? Thank the art of minimalism, also known as: the art of caring without appearing like you do. I’m certainly guilty of stepping out of my apartment and looking like I’m ready to go right back to bed. I mean who isn’t, right? However, it doesn’t have to be that way.

The key to looking like success, especially when you need it the most, is simplicity. If you’re having trouble that means it’s time for spring cleaning. Life is all about change and eventually, one day you look at your wardrobe and realize that you’ve outgrown graphic T-shirt or your Bobby Jack sweater. You change and grow and decide to move on from there.

This Fashionista gathered these essential pieces for her look: a white T-shirt, black and gold color blocked jacket, black velvet shoes and her “Beauty & Essex” beanie. I love that it adds a fun touch. Let’s also not forget about the sunnies! It’s imperative to have the sunglasses. How can one even complete the look without it? Nothing says “don’t worry, I got this!,” more than a pair of sunnies that depicts the reflection of those in front of you.

I’m sure it’s a tough time for us all with finals around the corner and our social lives…or no social life because the only people you’ve been hanging around with recently are in the pages of a textbook. Okay, so maybe I’m exaggerating a little bit, but we’ve all been there and we’re not alone. Hang in there, summer’s almost coming. Enjoy this ride and add your own version of a “Beauty & Essex” beanie to your look next time you’re headed to class.

One Simple Change: Distress and hang with your gals afterwards! Transition your outfit by adding high ankle booties and replace the color blocked jacket with a leather jacket. With this new outfit, you’ll be ready to par-tay! One more thing, keep the sunglasses.
