The University of Virginia often has a reputation for being preppy. When most people think of UVA style, images of pearl necklaces and bowties come to mind. While I personally enjoy preppy styles among others, it is possible to be preppy without being dressed in head-to-toe Lilly Pulitzer. This Fashionista sports a tortoiseshell polarized pair from J.Crew that shield her eyes from the bright sun but also makes a statement. The tortoiseshell pattern is classic for sunglasses, but the blue color of the lenses stand out and make the accessory unique. The delicate gold necklace, the traditional bracelets and the simple pearl earrings show the preppy style of UVA in a way that is subtle and contemporary.
