WHAT TO WEAR: Class

January and February in Colorado can be wild cards, sometimes it’s tundra freezing and other times it’s 50 and raining for two weeks straight. But one thing is for sure—looking cute is always a priority. On one of those warm days it can be super tempting to whip out your tank tops, but when the weather is this bipolar it is always best to stick to something that can easily go from 50 degree weather to 35 degrees in the blink of an eye.

This Fashionista is sporting a wonderful option for one of these days. The American Eagle Outfitters stretchy dress without tights is light and fun for a surprisingly warm day, yet it can easily be winterized with the addition of tall boots and thick tights. Brick red is a wonderful color that can make the transition from Christmas Eve to January by pairing it with neutrals such as tan or gray to give it a lighter daytime feel. This effortless look is great for running to a lecture and then grabbing a coffee after class. The stretch of the dress and looseness of sweater also help to hide those pesky holiday pounds you’ve vowed to lose in the new year.
In the land of yoga pants, pullovers and plastic chokers it can be hard to motivate yourself to wear a dress to class but the beauty of the T-shirt dress is that it doesn’t need much pairing or thought. You simply throw the dress on and go, add a long necklace for a class presentation or dress it up with heeled booties.

To go from rain to sun come May, simply thrown on lace-up sandals and a felt hat and you’re ready to take on the sun sans sweater. For an edgy twist add a jean vest or leather jacket for a tougher look.
