WHAT TO WEAR: Class

For most of us, the first week back on campus is officially in the books. (Literally, I’ve been buried in books already). With the weather cooling off more at night or in the morning, but still heating up in the afternoon, it can be difficult to put together an outfit that works all around the clock. From the final tap on that snooze button of yours, to the moment you drop your stuff as you walk in the door at the end of the day, comfort is your best friend. How do we keep comfort and style in sync though? I am fully guilty of being the girl that typically shows up to class in running shorts or leggings and a casual top or T-shirt because I couldn’t get my bum out of bed early enough; however, I like to keep people on their toes and try putting in a little extra effort from time-to-time.

With the weather in Nebraska being so unpredictable, planning an outfit can become quite a task. You have to consider things such as: the time of day you have classes and when you’ll be done, what the temperatures in those classrooms are normally like, how far your commute is and if the forecast is bound to throw you a big ol’ plot-twist. You also want to make sure you’re choosing something that won’t be a distraction and that you can easily focus in.

This Fashionista shows her class-time style in this adorable black and white striped, cotton tunic dress that she scored at T.J. Maxx (similar here and here). She paired her dress with a comfortable pair of light pink slip-on Keds sneakers and a small Jessica Simpson cross-body bag, both from DSW. To add a little je ne sais quoi, she also accessorized with her fave dainty Alex and Ani charm bangle. Lanae is a junior pre-nursing student at the University and is always on the go. Aside from the usual leggings to class, Lanae plans to beat the heat in comfy and breezy sundresses.

Here is a style tip too, for those chillier mornings and cold classrooms, pair this outfit with a neutral oversized cardigan and you’re good to go!

One Simple Change: Done with classes for the day and want to catch happy hour and grab a bite to eat with your girls? Simply ditch the cardigan and swap those sensible sneakers for a pair of gladiator sandals or wedges, et voilà! Go grab yourself a Cali roll because you, my friend, just went from the classroom to girl’s night out in a matter of seconds.
