The temperature is finally dropping down here in Kentucky, which means perfect tailgating weather! In a small college town, football is what we live and die by in the fall. It is so fun to see the sea of red, black and white at the stadium as we all stand and cheer on our Hilltoppers. This Fashionista killed the game (day) in this outfit by putting her own “flare” to the traditional southern tailgate.
Her look is pulled off effortlessly with statement jean overalls and a simple red tank underneath. Overalls have been a huge trend for the past couple of runway seasons contributing to the revival of ’70s. Adding a red patterned ascot gave the outfit that extra groovy touch. To accessorize, she added a red cross-body bag and some white platforms. Of course, this WKU fan’s outfit could not be complete without the signature Red Towel that the whole student body waves at every game.
The great thing about this ensemble is that it stands out in comparison to most of the tailgating outfits. Most students stick to their southern roots and just wear a red dress with cowboy boots to games; therefore, this Fashionista had everyone turning heads. This outfit could definitely be worn for other events like brunch with the girls or even to a local music festival. To mimic this ’70s inspired look, just pair some overalls with a graphic band T-shirt and a pair of sneakers to make it more casual and edgy. For the upcoming colder weather, throw on a pair of booties and a suede jacket! This outfit perfectly embodies her college pride with a stylish flare that anyone can wear!
