Karl Lagerfeld once stated, “Music is part of the life of fashion, too.” When one goes to a concert, just like any other occasion, you must look the part. The usual essentials are leather or denim jackets paired with worn jeans and a T-shirt. In my drawer, I have a couple of awesome graphic T-shirts: there’s the Rolling Stone T-shirt, the Arctic Monkeys T-shirt that I wore my very first time at Madison Square Garden and, of course, two graphic T-shirts of The Beatles including a beanie that my cousin got me for Christmas. One of the best presents ever!
This Fashionista most definitely looks the part and rocks it well. I spotted her and I immediately thought, “I want that jacket!” Her embroidered denim jacket is the perfect piece for a concert, a must-have! A concert is the place to sport nicely fitted black jeans or ripped jeans. It’s all about adding edge, along with comfortable sneakers or ankle boots with a low heel. After all, you are going to be jumping and shouting lyrics at the top of your lungs and if you’re daring enough, possibly even crowd surfing.
I love when I look through my drawer and find the outfits I wore to concerts I’ve been to. It’s as if I’m reliving the memory, a simple moment of clarity when one does not think but feel. There is always a moment in life when you fall in love with music. For me, it came when I started watching One Tree Hill. If you haven’t seen the show, it’s a must! You won’t regret it, I promise. When I saw how much music influenced the characters and their wardrobes, I was completely hooked and inspired. Every episode was a title of a song and I would listen to each one to discover new artists. Honestly, I don’t recall there being a specific song or moment when I fell in love with music. I wish there was though. However, that doesn’t change how I connect with a song or an album or how I feel when I listen to it.
I hope when you read this you begin to relive the first concert you’ve been to or the day you fell in love with music.
One Simple Change: Got a cute date afterwards? Just add a classic little black dress underneath the denim jacket with black stilettos. With this outfit, your date won’t just be falling for your music taste.
