I don’t know if people who don’t live in southern California do this, but I certainly try to make use of my summer wardrobe pieces for a variety of occasions throughout the year. Going to college somewhere where it’s warm for a good portion of the year means making sure your summer wardrobe pieces can stretch into other seasons, as well as work for multiple occasions.
This Fashionista’s outfit is the perfect example of what I’m talking about. Her subtle flower-powered ensemble is perfect for any summer concert, from the average free ‘80s tribute band in the local park to your favorite alt-rock idol’s electric-lit, stadium-filling tour. And this Fashionista’s pieces will translate well into fall and winter as well.
Our Fashionista has paired a dark floral sundress—a perfect transition piece—with a cross-body bag and a simple gold watch. To give her look some edge, she’s added a distressed denim jacket like this one from rag & bone and some dark brown zippered ankle boots. Her flawless bangs lend a bit of a ‘60s vibe to the entire look, a nod to women involved in the music industry with rad style like Patti Boyd (Beatle George Harrison’s wife), Stevie Nicks or even Florence Welch of Florence + the Machine. This Fashionista’s outfit is perfect for just about any concert that’s not a rave, death metal or punk. It’s low key and versatile while still being unique and just slightly dressy enough to look more put together than the average concert goer.
One Simple Change: Leave the denim jacket at home and switch out the ankle boots for a pair of gladiator sandals and you’re good for brunch or even a night out with the girls!
