It’s officially that time of year where it is socially acceptable to wear sweats from head to toe while heading to class. Although this isn’t the most fashionable look, I think we’re all guilty of it. Personally, the snow and gray skies make me want to roll out of bed and wrap myself in a blanket for all hours of the day. Unfortunately, as cosy as that sounds, I am the type of person that needs to “dress for success,” so I actively look for Fashionistas who have mastered this in the winter seasons.
Temperatures are below freezing, but this Fashionista has the perfect look that is both stylish and keeps her from freezing while running to class on these dreadful winter days. I love that her look is simple but the details in the layer add spunk, making it unique. To keep her warm and snug, she paired her favorite leggings with a distressed hoodie. The hoodie spices up the outfit by adding an edgy look to it without being uncomfortable.
Unfortunately, leaving home without a coat is definitely not an option here in Bloomington, but this Fashionista knows exactly how to layer. First, she threw on a fluffy black jacket, perfectly contrasting her olive hoodie. Then she added my current winter obsession, an oversized gray scarf, as a final layer. The look was completed with her feathery sneakers, giving her supportive yet trendy shoes to sprint from class to class in.
While flurries fall from the skies and turn our runway white, I encourage all the Fashionistas out there to avoid staying in pajamas when heading out the door. Don’t let winter blues get you down and control your style! It may be freezing, but mix and match different pieces in your wardrobe and I promise you’ll find a RAD outfit.
