WHAT TO WEAR: Date Night

In Dallas, Texas, Friday nights are reserved for partying it up in the uptown area, which are filled with bars and young professionals who are ready to indulge in heavy sipping after a long week. You and your girls follow suit. While you’re there, you are approached by a nice young gentleman, who orders you a drink and has you cracking up for the next 30 minutes. Now you have a date set for tomorrow night. He suggests Ocean Prime since it is in the uptown area, and maybe y’all could go for drinks afterwards, if you are up for it. Now you need an outfit.

This Fashionista’s outfit is perfect for a date night situation. Ocean Prime is a nicer restaurant, so the lavender peplum top and her all-gray wedges make her outfit dressy. It is important she did not overdo the dressiness of the outfit because since they plan on going out in the area after dinner, you don’t want to show up in a gala-ready gown; that may be a little too much. For pants, she has a on a pair of black ankle trousers, which I may add give the outfit a very sleek look. She completes her ensemble with a bold silver statement necklace, a black rectangle-shaped watch and a purse in black and white. Going back to the wedges, I have mentioned in a previous post about how I prefer to just wear wedges in just the summer, mainly the ones with the cork or tweed wedge. Well, these wedges are an example of some I would wear year round because they don’t have that bottom. The whole heel is covered in leather—well, faux leather.

One Simple Change: You have an interview coming up that Monday? Throw on a black blazer and switch out the bold statement for a simple necklace. Depending on the interview, I’d decide then whether to keep the shoes or trade them out for a pair of black pointed-toe heels.
