Meet this month’s Fashionista. She goes to Stetson University in Florida, hence her warmer look for winter. This Fashionista has a look that you can bring from day to night, and what’s better than having an outfit for day and night without having to do an entire outfit change? Trust me, nothing.
This dress from Chic Wish can be worn with a light sweater or a fancier jacket, unless the weather is nice enough to not need one. For those of you who go to schools where it actually snows or the temperature falls below 50, I recommend wearing black tights, a leather jacket or sweater and black closed-toed pumps or black boots to modify this look.
This Fashionista is wearing tan sandals for a more casual, comfier look. The dress can also be worn with flats, heels or even black or tan boots. The tints in the dress allow you to pair browns and tans or shades of blacks and greys easily.
The Fashionista is wearing a tan sweater that is perfect for fall, but it could easily be swapped for a heavier jacket or lighter leather jacket depending on your location and the season. The sweater also can be a way to dress the outfit down. She completes her look for a daytime feel with the sandal and sweater combo, and her use of minimal jewelry.
As I said in my STYLE GURU BIO, I really want to experiment more with a bold lip color throughout the duration of my internship. This Fashionista opted for a deep red lipstick from MAC, called Antique Velvet, which has a darker more fall/winter feel. I love this lip on my muse of the month as it compliments her hair color and brings out the darker tints in the dress.
Because the dress is the focal point of the outfit, less is more in terms of jewelry. A simple necklace and a few simple bracelets really pull the look together without going overboard. There are gold and silver hues in the dress, therefore it would be acceptable to pair either gold or silver jewelry with this look.
One Simple Change: To take this look to brunch, I would recommend pairing the dress with cute but casual flats, and a jean jacket. I would also recommend only wearing a simple necklace or bracelet to create a more casual feel and keep it simple.
