WHAT TO WEAR: Day to Night

Okay Fashionistas, summer is finally here which means hanging out with friends that were hardly seen over the past nine months while everyone was away at school. So now what do we do? Plan every second of every weekend so we don’t skip a beat from where we all left off last summer.

What’s something I hate doing more than anything? Having to leave after being with friends all day to go pick out a new outfit that takes me into my plans for that night. Wearing an outfit that can be easily taken throughout my day into night is something that seems like an obvious choice, yet I’m asking myself why I never do it.

Nothing says “summer” more than a sundress that flows in the breeze. Taking that perfect summer look from day to night is something that I always thought was next to impossible but as it turns out, it is not as difficult as it seems.

A loose sundress is definitely a necessity in my look book for the summer. The knit stitching at the top of this dress adds detail that takes this dress a step above most casual sundresses.

The subtle accessories in this look are just enough to draw some attention. The slim gold choker adds a small amount of bling that can carry on from day to night. The darkness in the black-jeweled ring is eye-catching yet still delicate enough to wear with the soft colored sundress. A cute pair of booties adds to the boho vibe and sticks to the neutral color scheme of this outfit, keeping it perfect for summer.

Lastly, and most importantly: the jacket. A light jacket is the perfect accessory to take your look from day to night. A sundress is perfect for hot summer days, however when the sun goes down, you need to add something to your outfit that keeps you comfortable while you’re sitting by a fire with your friends. This army green jacket is the puzzle piece that my summer outfits have been missing to keep me from leaving the party for an outfit change.

From beach to bonfire, this look allows you to take your outfit from a hot summer day into a cool summer night with ease.

One Simple Change: Taking your look from a casual summer day to a concert at night? Swap out the jacket for a flannel shirt. It will still keep you warm when the sun goes down and it will make the sundress just casual enough for a summer concert.
